To keep the library environment pleasant and ensure everyone can make best use of our facilities, with maintaining library \rules and regulations.

We ask every library users to respect the library rules and regulations. Users who persistently break or ignore any of these rules may have their borrowing/access rights be suspended.

              Library Guidelines:

Ø  Silence should be strictly maintained in the library premises.

Ø  Maximum of 25 books for a duration of 3 months to Faculty and 3 books for a duration of 2 weeks to students will only be issued.

Ø  Students are entitled to renew books (max. twice) depending upon the demand of the required books.

Ø  An overdue charge of Rs. 2/- per day will be charged on late return of books.

Ø  Books will be issued only on producing the Identity card.

Ø  Books should be checked for missing pages or damage before-issue. The users will be held responsible for any damage/missing pages, later  found, and the penalty would be at the discretion of the librarian.

Ø  Library resources like reference books, periodicals, bound volumes, annual reports; CD’s audio/video cassettes are to be utilized within the library premises only.

Ø  Issued books/Personal books, files, and other personal belongings are not allowed into the library.

Ø  Mobile Phone is to be compulsorily switched off within the library premises.

Ø  Violation of the above rules will lead to termination of library membership.

             Behavior in the Library

  • Behave courteously and considerately to the staff and other users. Anyone behaving unacceptably will be asked to leave.
  • You can use your laptop in the Library, provided there are no complaints from other users.
  • If you trigger the security system you may be asked to show the contents of your bags to staff.
  • We can't take responsibility for your possessions in the Library.

The Institution of Engineers (India), 8 Gokhale Road, Kolkata (IEI) is the National organization of Engineers in India. The Institution of Engineers (India) has over 0.5 million members in 15 engineering disciplines in 99 centers or chapters in India and overseas; it is the world's largest multi-disciplinary engineering professional society in engineering and technology world. The Institution of Engineers (India) was established in 1920 in Kolkata, West Bengal and is acclaimed to have pioneered non-formal education in Engineering. The Institution of Engineers (India) conducts an examination of its Associate Membership. This examination is considered to be on par with B.E. / B.Tech. When contemplated as an eligibility qualification to write competitive examinations like the Indian Civil Service, Indian Engineering Services, GATE, etc., and for employment in Government, public and private sectors in India.

3. Indian Institute Of Technology, Gandhinagar

 

FOET Library has a membership of Inter Library Loan service with IIT- Gandhinagar. User can visit, access and read the IIT-G library resources in library premises. for more information contact Library office.

Book Bank Service

This book bank scheme is run for the SC/ST Category Students.  4-6 books regarding syllabus are issued to students for the whole Semester  and taken back after the end semester examination is over. PDPU provides funds for this scheme every year.
 

        Rules for Book Banks Facilities:

 

1.  The Book will be given to the students of all the categories on the basis of the income of their parents and the ceiling of the same will be Rupees 2 lacks per annum.

 

2.   Depending upon the availability of the sets of books the priority will be given to the students whose parent’s income is lower.

 

3.   All students who are availing the facility must ensure retuning the entire set of books provided to them within two days of completion of their final examination in the concerned Semester.

 

4.   If any student availing the facility loses the book / damages the book / disfigures the book, he / she shall replace the Volume(s) with new book (or pay the current cost of the book plus fine, if any, as may be directed by authority).

 

   

          Book Bank Inauguration

              Book Bank Facility is being inaugurated at SPT Library by our respected Director General, PDPU. On this occasion Dr. P K Banik, Director SPT and Prof. G P Karmakar borrowing the books to SPT new batch student.
